Let's 'Palilia'

'Palilia' is a Swahili word which means to weed or clear land for cultivation.

Any farmer who intends to get a good harvest at the end of the season has to 'palilia' his crops. He knows that if he doesn't weed his garden, weeds will consume all the manure and fertilizer he has used on his crops and at the end of it all he will have nothing to harvest.

How does this apply in our daily lives?
Simple. Just read the posts in this blog and you will be able to remove the so many thoughts occupying your mind and preventing you from thinking straight. For example, you may be thinking about which is the best investment but you are bombarded with ideas and might end up investing in none.

This blog gives you simple ideas which will have a big impact in your life if you apply them. Just 'palilia' your brain and you will attain 'la finesse' (French word for: free from foreign matter; clearness; purity; sharpness).

How To Be Rich

Everyone would like to have a comfortable life but many people don't believe this is possible .

All you need are things: First, the right attitude. Second, patience and the third is belief.

A net income of Ksh20,000 can be the beginning of this journey - considering that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

A tenth of whatever you earn is yours to keep. This is what George S. Clason tells us in his book 'The Richest Man in Babylon'. A tenth of Ksh20,000 is Ksh2000.

Put your target age to be 40 years.

So, let's say you start saving the Ksh2000 every month at the age of 30. This will mean you will save for 10years! Wow... The interest rate will be 7%pa at the beginning and will vary depending on the inflation rate. Where will you be after 10 years?

After doing my calculations at at a constant rate of 7% p.a, your total amount at the end of 10 years of saving will be Ksh352,208. You will have earned an interest of Ksh110,208!

You can comfortably pump this money in an active investment while still saving for the long term!

Require advice on how to go about this kind of saving? Just click on email and we will be honoured to reply.

Always remember that 'akiba haiozi' - Swahili saying meaning savings never rot.

Animals continue to amaze me.

Take a case of a herd of wildebeests. If one of them is captured by a pride of lions, the others will gang up and fight for the release of their own.

For sure these animals know that unity is strength and that together they can conquer.

Human beings often forget that the same concept applies in their lives. You will often hear someone say, 'everyone for him/herself and God for us all'. I would like to compare this to the saying, 'if God is for us, who can be against us?'.

This clearly means that God likes unity and it's in unity that we will prosper. It doesn't say, 'if God is for me...'.

Let's continue with the spirit of togetherness irrespective of our diversity.Wildebeests can't tell which ones are from Serengeti and which are from Maasai Mara. They are he same species of animals and will strive to protect each other.
